About Nose Your Bourbon®

When I got into bourbon in 2015, I knew that I liked the sweet, spicy, and oaky characteristics of bourbon, but I wasn't able to detect specific tasting notes like I read in reviews. I assumed that it was simply a lack of training on my part, and that with practice, I would be able to find and appreciate the type of notes I was reading about. Seth Brown, a good friend of mine with an amazing palate, recommended that I start with the aromas in the spice cabinet (cinnamon, brown sugar, allspice, black pepper, etc), and that by simply spending more time nosing these ingredients while enjoying my bourbon, the notes present in the glass would start to come alive. I was as skeptical at first, but couldn't believe how well it worked. I found that, just like working out any muscle, the more time I spent nosing, the easier the notes were to detect.

So, instead of spending hundreds of dollars on a nosing kit that uses chemical aromas made in a lab, I made my own with real ingredients for the most authentic aromas. As I started sharing photos of my nosing kit in bourbon Facebook groups, it became apparent that I was onto something big, and thus, Nose Your Bourbon® was born.

As of today, I've sold over 17,000 nosing kits through retail and wholesale channels, and have received hundreds of positive reviews from satisfied customers.
