The Turkey Wing Whisk is a traditional hand broom dating back to colonial America. In fact, it's believed that prior to the 1750’s people would use an actual turkey wing to sweep crumbs off tables.

Today's Turkey Wing Whisk is made with corn broom, known for its ability to capture dirt rather than push it around. It's often used to sweep crumbs from the table, dirt off clothing and, in combination with a dust pan, sweep under cabinets or in tight corners efficiently. Traditionally, whisks and brooms are given as hostess gifts and for people moving into new homes, so they don’t bring dirt from an old broom with them.

Our Turkey Wing Whisk is made with natural broom corn and is bound with nylon thread. It can be cleaned by dunking in boiling water and hung to dry. Should your broom come to the end of its natural life, the broom corn can be composted, and the twine can be re-used.

About Wicks Forge

About Wicks Forge

The Wicks have been in the metal trade since the early 1900s. My great-great-grandfather worked on the Statue of Liberty and my great-grandfather was a pioneer in the field of welding. He ran a welding shop and later a welding school during WWII where he and my grandfather trained welders in support of the war effort.

After the War, the family moved to Connecticut where they continued in the metal business - running a manufacturing company called Wicks Products.
